Puzling world

We went over to Wanaka yesterday, to use a voucher that Caleb & Cindy gave us! It was a famili pass to puzzle world . We spent an hour or so in the maze, and some more time in the Roman toilets....as well as the puzzle rooms too. Have most of my SENZ workshop packs all sorted and ready to go :-) fun. now need to get this job application done and some maths resources created so I can play and create with some goodies that SBO will have for sale at SENZ ... gotta love that kind of play time. Oh and make some cards because it's world card making day this Saturday!

at the Farm

Just for one night... term break but swimming lessons for the children this week... so had to come back home. good thing I like my own bed! Before we left on Sunday evening I took these photos. Jase was taken with how nice these hens were, I love their colourings! Mum sold a couple on Trademe for $150.00 for the pair... normally they are about $25 each! She has 30 something chicks at various stages at the moment - some in the office, the glass house...& I think she had to move some out of the bedrooms so there were places for us to sleep too! Love that these hens (& the rooster) get such a free life - true free range! Don't these goats look contented? OK, need to stop procrastinating & do some stuff!

Project Catwalk Weeks 9 & 10

so.. the top one, we had to scraplift soemthing from the last 9 weeks of challenges! I chose this one . I used the cafe scene and the reverse canvas idea I saw by Rach H in the last SBO ezine... now have some art for in our kitchen :-) 'hope' - this challenge was to use something in a way it isn't normally used... the base is my well painted, cut and used fiskars 12 x 12 cutting mat trimmed down!

Buttons & Sugar

Both sweet :-) got some more buttons last weekend (via trademe)... still short on green ones... but the kids had a ball sorting them into the different jars based on colour. When grocery shopping I spotted some newish pams packaging - both the white sugar and brown sugar have cool scrapbooker scallop borders and scallop circles & cupcakes to boot!!!. Cute. Almost makes me want to bake. Big thanks to Aussie Scrap Source ... I'd entered layouts in some challenges they set using different techniques, ideas and products... & on Friday I picked up a yummy package of Luxe papers and some Rose Moka (new to me, yummy, bright, thick papers) and some Luxe die cut journaling thingies as well as some Pink Paislee stamps. how cool was that. very generous! It's the last week (of ten total) of SIS Project Runway for me... so after 3pm I might share some more of the things I have created for this. Have really enjoyed the challenges... really got me thinking out side my box and th...

NZ Dare 53

The Dare : to scrap the weird + strange, am I allowed to say that my kids are weird and strange? LOL - just sometimes :-) This dare was very cool... not so much a challenge but more of a dare, perfect :-) Love dares like this to push you out of your zone of scrapping some of those perfectly posed photos with beautiful colours. thanks for a fun dare Rach!

Random Kits

This was in a package in my mailbox today. Love this colourful collection - I purchased 2 of the cute wee kits. Yum. Certainly beats going out to collect these goodies myself.

Kiwi Jack Me Up

have meant to do the last few jacks but just didn't :-( finally did one :-) Was asked what the background paper was... it's an October Afternoon Paper - (one of the detours collection ones) this manufacturer along with Cosmo Cricket are two of my favourites at the moment :-). the journaling card is also October Afternoon and the title is from some vinyl thickers by American Crafts.

Project Runway SIS style

created this for week 8 of Project Runway at SIS . Used some BG offbeat, Cosmo Cricket Mr Campy, AC thickers, JB tickets, HS tape, Elsie Stamps, SU tab punch, white sharpie, Jam Jar label, yellow thread & some wallpaper from SIS.

Fortnightly Sketch

at Sketchbook ! the above is my take on the sketch that is sponsored by Scrapbook Outlet used some daisy bucket papers, some october afternoon, buttons, various lettering. label stickers & half a page from an old book. hmm, two posts in one day...

Little Houses

Was delighted to play with one of the doodlebug houses. Andrea sent me one to 'do up' for the most recent ezine (the link is in the previous post). At church on Sunday the children looked at the story of Ruth and created these peg people to illustrate the story, when they got home they added twigs, grasses & Alicia added names - gotta love the spelling of 'Roth'. Loved how Alicia looked in her bible to find the other woman involved - 'Orpah' just so she could label them properly... Alicia had a special connection to this story as her middle name is Naomi (Ruth's mother in law). Any way, thought they looked cute next to the Lil House!

Paperbutton

Has some cute as wee kits for sale, but not many of each so go look at something random ! New Design Team at Scrapbook Outlet NZ . Yay for the new team! Must update my side bar. I see Scenic Route is now all up at SBO in the shop along with Cosmo Cricket. Looking forward to the September Kit & Have seen what's in store for October and Love it! Oh, the ezine from SBO is out too! check here .

Scrap Of Faith

created this wall hanging - measures about 6 x 12 - based on the 'word' challenge for the Scrap Of Faith blog this month. Need to be reminded of this from time to time!

use your mail challenge

a little challenge I posted at Scrapbook Outlet NZ... go to the forum & check it out! it's based on using your mail... & I want to narrow down my ideas for altering this: hence I set the challenge to get people's ideas! It closes at the start of the SBO cyber crop on Friday 29th!

SISTV

I created these in response to a more simple challenge at SIS... as part of a project runway set of challenges... the fourth one was sent off & I can't share yet. Basically we weren't to use too many embellishments... I loved this challenge & as I created 4 in one avo soo easily, think I'll do it some more :-) Below is the soon to be released 'Urban Prep' kit from SIS. It's available for PreOrder until 24th August... for New Zealanders it's fun getting some stuff that every other kiwi scrapper doesn't have even though you have to add in postage and currency conversions. Check out that green... one of my fave colours at the moment. There's a deal going on with the kits this month (not just that if I do this wee advertorial I have a chance to win one) but also if you spend $50 you also get a $10 gift card! So check out SIS Boutique for more info! Annother thing I have to say is: supercalifragilisticexpialadocious (hope I spelt it right)...

zippered pouches

learned how to make these from a webisode on SIS - thanks Rhi. the blue one (felt) is for my sons pencils... he thought it was fantastic and carried it around like a 'man bag' at Church on Sunday. The others are for my teaching stuff... since I move from class to class it's handy having a separate pencil case, sticker pouch, stamp pouch etc. fun. the girls have some too but I made them last week & they have them at school.

Sketchbook Olympics & Snow

A competition not to be missed... check out the forum at Sketchbook New Zealand for details! The kids built this snowman on Thursday evening.... Schools were cancelled on Friday & this morning we woke to even more snow... but then it rained :-( I created this using the Scrapbook Outlet's August Kit... it's a little booklet for recording messages and notes between me and the girls. below are some shots of the inside of it :-) I've had a cold all week... would like it to go away now! Enjoy your weekend/week... till next time.... p.s. loving being back at school teaching and have some very cool classes.... really loving numeracy too!

3 more working days

till I start at Queenstown Primary as a release teacher in a 0.54 position. Half a teacher LOL. Until then I am releiving at a local Kindergarten - only an 8 minute drive from home which is good considering I filled up with petrol today - my first tank over $100 so I'm not doing too badly there (I don't normally let the car get this empty). Last weekend I worked on the layout below - using more October Afternoon of course. the photo is one we took when up in Marlborough wine region in one of the school holidays last year. I did the following layout for the first weeks challenge at Scrap In Style TV - had to use two things from a list - I went for rubbish bags and paper towel. Don't you love our pretty blue Southern Lakes rubbish bags? I glimmermisted the paper towel before stitching it to the layout. the rainbow stamp Vicky had designed for one of the SBO kits way back when was a perfect addition... with some watercolour crayons from Stampin Up (I just got a cool r...

some stuff

This card and envie were for a challenge - Project Catwalk Week Two at SIStv - had to use the cellophane outer from some supplies in the creation of a 'green' card and had to create a matching envelope using newspaper. 'meadow' glimmermist green felt Prima and October Afternoon patterned papers Love Elsie 'toby' stickers Pink Paislee stickers sewing machine buttons

in response to the challenges

I was 'dared' to take inspiration from a fashion mag page & make it about winter... took the simplicity of a single figure on the page and the grid like pattern of the tiles and put them in my layout. Happy 50th dare No. 8 Wired . Have a few more ideas on this one... will see if I get them done though. materials: Stampin Up notebook designer series paper; Fancy Pants felt snowflake, MM rub ons and I cut the title from paper scraps using 'red tag sale' in the cuttlebug. On the snowflake I brushed some Jo Sonja's opal dust - love that stuff. Have you been to Kiwijackmeup lately? They have a jack of Heidi Barclay awaiting your 'jacking' and I think you have till Friday 25th to do it... but don't quote me on it. From heidi's layout I used the arrow and the 'collection' of items around a corner as well as a frame of patterned paper around the photo. materials: white cardstock lightly sprayed with antique rose glimmermist which was in the...
