Snow Day!

Last Friday was a snow day...this meant no school.  It had started early...I noticed a bit of a glow through our bedroom curtains when I woke up at 3:30am and on checking outside there was a lovely layer of snow.    Of course I had to get outside and photograph it and didn't stop to put any shoes on... I went back to my warm bed and got a bit of sleep before discovering that it was indeed a snow day and that we wouldn't have any school - handy when I had quite a bit of school work that needed to be done but first, time for a spa! As the morning progressed, I decided the daffodils my husband had picked from our fence line the day before would be a perfect way to document our spring snowfall of 2024. It was wonderful to be able to put these onto pages over the next few days as was joining a group of paper crafters for the weekend.  We did have to head home earlier as more snow was threatening to close roads..it didn't! Supplies for these pages can be purchased fr...

a little creating

Some cards. I'm moving back to the 'get rid of scraps by using them for cards' mode because all my scrapbooking stuff has to fit into my trolley and mm tote bag (except for tools like cricut, cuttlebug & slice of course)! I created these layouts on our last few 'sticking pretty bits of paper to other pretty bits of paper' nights in Queenstown. Am now considering what I want to get on with at Dunedin Scrap Retreat - album of my teenage years, a couple of recent photos - Ethan's birthday, Easter camp, Swimming 4 peaks day, Harvest Festival and lots of cards to see me through the year not to mention a few gifts that I need to make. The sewing machine is out and I'd better finish using it so I can have the table clear for dinner time!

CIS

Was fantastic. This term has been soo full on and has brought about many changes for me the chance to get away and just create was brilliant! Here are two layouts I created that are up at the SBO gallery also. I had my last day at Frankton Playcentre today where I have been working on Wednesdays through this term. They have a parent who is keen to take on the supervising which is fantastic - Playcentre is all about the parents being the teachers! I only have 2 days left at Queenstown Playcentre where I have been involved for the last 5 years - Ethan was about 5 weeks old when we first went - it was a life saver for a mum with three children under three and as the centre needed a trained supervisor I did the training & then even did a grad. diploma in ECE teaching (already had a dip in teaching -primary) as I needed to understand this whole Early Childhood Thing. For the last 3 years I have worked five mornings a week 9- 12:30 during school terms at Playcentre and now that Ethan is...

Chicken Pox

Heidi challenged us last week to scrap our chicken pox pictures. I loved what she did! Here's my attempt. Though you can't see many pox I think you get the idea of how miserable miss A was. Her siblings have it now with Miss K getting it the worst!
