SOF & 'amazing'

Here's the bits I have to play with tonight @ the online SOF class! Can't wait, even though I don't have the tin yet - can do all the embellishing bits & make the cards for in it!

Put this Layout together in response to Vicky's SBO challenge last night for the DT - we had to use Basic Grey anything with a theme of 'amazing' , handwritten journaling & we had to cut the photo somehow. The BG in mine's the rub on on the top left of the frame. Thanks for the challenge Sneaky Pirate! Check out the gallery for the other DTers interpretation of this challenge. Posted by Picasa

Cyber Cropping

Had a fantastic time last night @ the SBO Cyber Crop!

Couldn't believe that we managed to produce 19 layouts before 11pm - lifting someone in the gallery! Stunning work - one person - go Paula - started @ 10:30pm and was finished by 10 to 11! My Layout to the left is a lift of Moniques Layout by the same title! That photo of my children is one that I have 3 copies of - so they can have one each in their albums - I now have 2 of the 3 layouts with it done - love photos like this for challenges - makes me do something different each time.

Grumpy Bum is my layout as an example for a sand it, paint it, clothe it challenge. I cut windows for the squares of fabric (clothing it) (thanks for the fabric Ali) which I then sewed in place (thanks to having my sewing maching back after mum got it fixed). I sanded the edge of the photo with a trusty emery board (don't have finger nails & it feels good to buy these for a purpose) over the edge of my work bench. I used paint for my good old foam stamps - was a bit to hasty & put the m in the wrong place so had to cut out some cs to cover my mistake & stamp the p in place. oops!

Bingo was a laugh - Donna got tired of typing! Vicky has set a challenge of using BG, cutting photos, using hand journaling, all with a theme of 'amazing'. Cut my photos last night, now have to work out which BG to use - I'd already journaled for these photos (my system) & it had 'amazing' in the journaling! perfect. I've seen one of Vicky's last scrapper standing for effer dares & I so want to copy it, maybe just parts then & give her the credit!

Shani's challenge is going to be a mission- not! - using 4 older patterned papers of which I seem to have a number of despite giving many away a couple of months ago!

To establish winners of the store credits we are having voting open for everyone - people are checking the gallery & sending me their fave! Can't wait to see who it will be! Check the forum for more info.

Better get some thinking on for these challenges... Posted by Picasa

Brussell Sprouts anyone?

Do you remember being forced to eat these? I can't, but I do remember not liking them. My girls loved them when @ Granny's last weekend. They asked for seconds. By the way, they love pumpkins, parsnips, beans, carrots, corn, brocolli & most other veg too! Posted by Picasa

my bike

I last had a bike when @ Primary School - $100 was taken from my bank account to put towards it.

I now have a bike - I don't have to walk the river track, I can now bike it!

Shelly, a mum from Playcentre had it as an extra (she'd found it @ the dump) as she'd just got herself a new one - she gave it to me!! Thanks Shelly.

What does having a bike mean?
-regular bike rides
-having to buy a bike helmet
-maybe do the Special K duathlon next year???
-getting fitter (provided I ride it)
-that I have a bike!

OK, need to send some pics to digital max.

more tarisota playing

did these last week. Loved the sparkly, clean nature of July's kit (that I got by surprise). Tamar wanted two of my LO's for tarisota talk - yeah -check these out tomorrow! Couldn't resist a little more handstitching in the Gentle Breeze LO!

Can't wait for August's kit! Bright & colourful this month.

Ethan's @ Grannys as I was down there for a Kei tua o te pae seminar on Saturday. Might see him again in a week or so. Doing an online class through scrapoffaith on Wednesday night - looking forward to it!

Up2Scrap is out - have you seen it? Another awesome job & lots of familiar names alongside layouts - congrats if you were published.

Did some cool challenges @ SBO in the weekend - while others were @ CC - had a go @ a circle shaped LO inspired by a dinner plate - check the gallery for the challenge LO's.

Best go & get organised for another workshop tonight - 'Capitalising on children's curiosity' - sounds fascinating! Seriously.

@ Playcentre

we made playdough - Ethan & Katya got stuck in!

Ethan made 'coffee' or a 'flat white' & drank it! So busy, so much fun.

Another crop tonight - have put to gether the 'fundamentals' of two pages that I intend to complete in the two hours I'm there. Will be happy if I complete one though.
Got some of the new Cherry Arte from SBO today - can't wait to play with it as well as some of the 7G's patterned papers that are currently $1 each. Also got a 'driven' Ki Memories Kit as a prize for the last DT challenge @ the Cyber Crop, not to mention some BG urban couture ribbon (YUM) & some colour me silly fibres - spoilt as!

My online class is up on the calender @ SBO - exciting & scary! (hope someone comes to it). I'm going to do one that includes some handstitching - some blanket stitch, french knots & basic stitch. Waiting for some bits before

putting the class samples together.

My sister is doing a mini album for her son about some foot reconstruction surgery he has been having so if you find any construction stuff - post me a link, please? Posted by Picasa
