Tarisota Playtime

Think I'm doing a return to cleaner & simpler lately - something to do with actually liking my photos so they don't need so much on the page? Have been doing a lot of handstitching lately - funny to see an article about it in the latestScrapbook Creations! Speaking of sewing - mum has had my bernina machine fixed & I now can't wait to use it again - thanks mum!

A is home early from school today as there are parent teacher interviews going on. Means no Arrowtown Paper Arts tonight so will have to scrap by myself.

Plans are in motion for a mini ,DIY, BYO scrap camp in Bannockburn (10 mins from Cromwell) late October which I'm going to use as a time to get lots of Christmas stuff done. Would love to know what you plan to make for Christmas gifts & any links to instructions would be fantastic. Also need to make a Christmas decoration for each of the children so tips & ideas for this would be great too - last year made them each a cube to hang on the tree. Started an advent calender thing too so will have to complete it in time for Christmas 06 - can't believe there are only 5 months of this year left. Posted by Picasa

sounds like a plan! last year I left the advent calendar until December and never made any progress!! :)
this year I'll be back to my *sorting ideas in August/September* action plan, even when people laugh at such an early start

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
