Dad's truck

Here's another - did this last night while I had access to Lynley's sewing machine. The two pages of writing dad did will be typed up & put behind the photo. I'm going to do another of this photo & journaling I think so I can give one to dad & keep one for me - I love the photo! Any suggestions on different ways to do it would be appreciated (can't do the same thing twice!). The title of the LO in this case was the writing that was on the side of the truck when he acquired it (the truck) for a bottle of whiskey as a 16/17 year old much to his dad's disapproval! - the people in it (must put that somewhere on the layout come to think of it) - my mum sits on the footboard, dad standing @ the back by the door & dads sisters from left to right - Robyn, Heather & Gaynor. Posted by Picasa

Great LOs Lara - now i want whitebait LOL I haven't had any for years! I did a duplicate LO for my dad a little while back. the one I did for Quinn's album was brown and had Karen Foster blueprint pp on it, for the one I did for dad i used blue and the blue blueprint pp and everything else was the same except the journalling wasn't addressed to Q.

What a wonderful series of LOs. I dont use picassa to upload to blogger so cant tell you why they are compressed? Do you use Hello? Maybe that might work? I use windows picture manager.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
