Play Time

Finally I have played with some of my new bits - I've kind of been in a scrapping rut over the last week or two (I think thats why I've had to buy stuff???!!!). Wit these two layouts I just had to get something done & I have. I am now inspired to do some more - just what I hoped. Loved using the papers in both of these - Statue in the Park is on one of the 3 Bugs in a Rug Jovial PP's, loved using the scenic route chipboard letters & my new little davis foam stamps too. Silly uses papers I purchased specifically for these photos - check out how they match Ethan's top! I don't normally buy pps just for a photo - usually just use what I have! The new Basic Grey is lots of fun! I never used to like BG much but I've come round - is that scrappers peer pressure?? Posted by Picasa

Two great LOs. Hey I have been working with that 3 Bugs paper today!! I love the look of the new BG. I was going to try & stay away from it as nearly everything I do has a bit of BG BUT I may just have to give in...
Those little chipbd tags or what ever they are really neat.

yeah dianna - I posted that photo at the time - now I've scrapped it!
The tags are bread tags from I KanDee (I think) & i put on some of the mm metal words too Donna.

I got to agree about having a good coffee in the morning but sadly its me + the 3 kids every morning - so its instant or else I will be late for school !!!!
I still haven't played with my 3bugs yet.
And thx for the cheeky comment about 'if I can find my LO's'.....lol......my Lo's are all nicely put into albums!!!

Hi Lara, Lovely layouts well done! Just a little tip for a future layout to try as a little fun. Have you seen bazzill chips? They are chips of chipboard that come in different shapes. For example you could take the cardstock circle embellishements on your basic grey layout, glue one onto a circle bazzill chip, sand around the edges to add a distress look then roll the edge in ink, it gives you much the same look but adds extra dimension to your page and are heaps of fun to make. Depending on your layout you can glaze with dimentional magic, there are so much you can do with these chipboard shapes, the possibilites are endless. Hope you don't mind the advice but I'm hooked on chipboard at the moment, have fun!!!

Hey anonymous - love chipboard too - use it when I want depth in the LO! I refuse to pay for bits of cardboard though that I can cut myself from digimax packaging! Dimensional Magic is cool on them too - did some on some 'lollipops' recently & used some circles I cut in chipboard with ink on the edges! It is a great easy fun technique! Love the ideas - that's part of why I put my layouts here - thank you.

Hi again Lara, sorry don't have an account with this blogger. I know what you mean about the chipboard I've made a few of my own too, I even invested in a proper gilotine so I could cut up my own squares, rectangles & strips...lol. Feel free to check out my new blogging page and gallery @

Thanks :)

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

my week so far...

This week is turning out great!  Having time on Monday (Otago Anniversary Day) to scrap with Lynley was just the best beginning!  Lynley was putting together some beginner class stuff that she intends to do soon – it looked great!  I got home to an email from The Scrapbook Outlet NZ asking if I would be a casual/oncall designer for their Design Team – of course I accepted – can’t wait to learn from Rach , Donna & Shani!  Then today I get an email from Jo (subeditor @ Up2Scrap ) accepting one of my submissions – I did send a few mind you so as you can imagine I’m buzzing!  I have packaged the LO ready to send tomorrow after Playcentre. Need to get back to reality though – Mum & Dad’s 50th Birthday this weekend, have to work out what I’m going to say, sort some table decorations & not to mention some way of sharing pictures of them when I only have Friday night & Saturday to do it!  Have to do some Playcentre Admin work this evening while Jase is @ Bible Study & the

Market Day

Sadly Lynley couldn't join me today as her dad is unwell :-( Was up rather early this morning (i.e. didn't get to bed till when some people are getting up on dairy farms) getting everything completed, packaged, priced etc for today and the organisation paid off as setting up was easy and had lots of sales :-) These photos are courtesy of Miss 8 who helped me set up this morning. Jase helped with the prep too and put these flowers together (as instructed). Off to make dinner, need sleep.
