at the Farm

Just for one night... term break but swimming lessons for the children this week... so had to come back home. good thing I like my own bed! Before we left on Sunday evening I took these photos. Jase was taken with how nice these hens were, I love their colourings! Mum sold a couple on Trademe for $150.00 for the pair... normally they are about $25 each! She has 30 something chicks at various stages at the moment - some in the office, the glass house...& I think she had to move some out of the bedrooms so there were places for us to sleep too!

Love that these hens (& the rooster) get such a free life - true free range!

Don't these goats look contented?

OK, need to stop procrastinating & do some stuff!

Ooooh I'm trying to convince Mum and Dad to get some hens. Now that they've moved off the farm I think they need some 'hobby' animals to look after. Enjoy your holidays.

I am always tempted by the thought of eggs but I think hens would be a bit too much for me right now. I'll stick to the free range eggs... very excited to discover an outfit that deliver them for very good price!

DH wants to build a hen house in the backyard so he can have fresh eggs - somehow I don't think the neighbours would like it! LOL! Maybe in a few years time when we get a bigger patch of dirt ;)

Beautiful hen Lara, wow at your mum getting $150 a pair, that is amazing. Makes me "nearly" want to breed them LOL.
Were down to 2 now, gave a few away to friends who wanted some, just two left now. Thought theyd gone off the lay, till yesterday I lifted a branch in the hedge and there was 36 eggs there, kids had a ball breaking them LOL

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

my week so far...

This week is turning out great!  Having time on Monday (Otago Anniversary Day) to scrap with Lynley was just the best beginning!  Lynley was putting together some beginner class stuff that she intends to do soon – it looked great!  I got home to an email from The Scrapbook Outlet NZ asking if I would be a casual/oncall designer for their Design Team – of course I accepted – can’t wait to learn from Rach , Donna & Shani!  Then today I get an email from Jo (subeditor @ Up2Scrap ) accepting one of my submissions – I did send a few mind you so as you can imagine I’m buzzing!  I have packaged the LO ready to send tomorrow after Playcentre. Need to get back to reality though – Mum & Dad’s 50th Birthday this weekend, have to work out what I’m going to say, sort some table decorations & not to mention some way of sharing pictures of them when I only have Friday night & Saturday to do it!  Have to do some Playcentre Admin work this ev...
