new competition

@ the Scrapbook Outlet! - check it out!

there's one for children too (something to focus on during the term break).

I've been making some cards (thought I'd give some as gifts) as per the guide on Mel's blog (thanks Mel) & done everything I can (till I get a family shot) for Mum & Dad's 50th album.

Got the whanau easter eggs today - gotta love chocolate! Ethan helped. Jase arrived home with a lovely bunch of flowers - but not for me - they are for work but due to tomorrow being Good Friday he can't collect them tomorrow!

A free day tomorrow - no Playcentre, only two children & Jase hasn't even got work - may go & collect firewood or check out Warbirds over Wanaka, there's also a walk over Fernhill way that we wanna check out. I have some scrapbook related playing to do over the next week or so too so plenty to make it an 'unfree' day after all!

till next time!

Happy Easter Lara. Yes saw the new challenge thought I might do one relating to faith and snap the designing with calender today suggested scrapping your faith too so I shall see what I come up with. Also some easter 2005 photos of luke I could use too.

Sounds like a fun weekend Lara, its interesting we were planning a class called 'Easter Treats' for people to scrap their Easter photos. The shop owner didn't think the class would be popular saying 'people don't take photos at Easter' we didn't agree, but surprisingly enough nobody has booked the class! Are we the only ones to treat Easter a special occasion to scrap? Hmmm interesting

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
