Blog Wanderings

A few things I have been discovering in my blog wanderings …..
First of all we begin our DT role @ Scrapbook Outlet with some of the new BG that has been uploaded to their online site & should arrive for me to play with on about Wednesday. The Scrapbook Outlet is running a forum Competition with a $25 voucher prize – check it out!

Have you tried scrapping yourself? Check out this blog for info & updates – there are entries from all around the world, some cool prizes & some celeb scrappers who have already scrapped themselves – links to all the LO’s are on the March 23rd entry on her blog: 12x12 .. 8x8 .. 6x6. The following is from Kirsty’s blog:
Challenge Rules: All you have to do - even if you are shy, is scrap a picture of yourself on a 6x6 page (we say this becuase some of you may be a little scared - but any size will do). Tell yourself/your kids/your family about you in a short yet expressive phrase - show me YOU! You might want to scrap like my version entitled "I am a Mother" or "I am a Woman" .. you choose what you like as long as its about you. Add doodles and Primas if you can too! Email me at kirstywiseman@hotmail.com to enter a link to your work and i will then post the link below. Comp closes 30th April 2006. Winner to feature in The Scrapbook Magazine as part of an Article amongst chosen artwork of other entrants

And another which looks like a challenge & a lot of fun & creativity is the 21 day challenge that Rhonna Farrer is running.

Hi Lara, Kirsty's comp is great isn't it. Gets everyone scrapping themselves for a change. Hope you're gonna do one?!

Yep, scrapping yourself is always the hardest, I've only done one of myself also, and I still don't like the photo!...lol One of our classes we are running in May is exactly that. Creating an album called 'Pieces of Me' a class that will run once a month to slowly complete a gorgeous 8 x 8 album all about yourself! I have to do one also so I have examples, so its a good way to force me to have to journal about myself too, I haven't even started it yet and already I'm stuck for words!!..lol

New Grad

This month I used the 'Sunshine Vibes' bundle to create this layout for the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team. Using die cuts to create stencils is a favourite way to create backgrounds for my scrapbook layouts. This bundle allowed me to do this and then to back some of the die cuts with in colour DSP.  Puffy hearts and fussy cut flowers add dimension. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator already and want the supplies I have used, please visit: https://laramoss.stampinup.net and head to the shop to look for: Sunshine Vibes Bundle Mini Alphabet Dies Florals in Bloom DSP

Prickly Pear Blog Hop

Welcome to our Prickly Pear Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Prickly Pear Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Brittany's blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the CTMH Blog Challenge and Support Group Blog Hop Guidelines beginning with our hostess Carol . Next check out Diana’s blog. I have loved working with Prickly Pear - these are my kind of colours! I opened this pack up at a Scrapbooking Retreat and used it for most of my layouts over the weekend. There were a few! I also used some of my left overs from this kit to make a couple of cards that you can see in my YouTube process video (skip to 5.23 if you don't want the Design Space instructions :-) Thanks for visiting - I'd love for your to comment so I know you have been here :-) Next check out Diana’s blog.

'Make a Memory Scrapbooking Kit

This was an easy way to get lots of memory keeping done at a crop yesterday!  7 layouts created and I put together another one from the kit today.  There is still more left in the kit box to make 2 - 3 more layouts! I made a few additions - some stamping, splattering, stitching and threads to add some texture and background interest. Head to the shop to check out this kit!
