heavy metal

Party was yesterday! Miss K is 5! She'll be off to School next Wednesday after many happy days at Playcentre - going to be strange just taking Mr E with me each day & leaving the girls at school.
Here's the card for daring cardmakers for this week - I used metal heart brads given by Paula with some gel-a-tin stamps I purchased from her :-)
We were up till 2am on the day of K's birthday & I'd been up till 1:30am the day before getting an A-Z album finished for Katya's present so am still rather tired! J did it too which is nice for Miss K to have an album that both her parents worked on for her. We got her a gorgeous castle thing that is Lego! It's so nice to see some 'girly' lego, hope they make more! She was really spoilt with gifts from her grandparents, cousins and friends! Off to get a coffee!

Lovely invitations! Happy Birthday to Katya! Better make the most of E at home - they grow up way too fast don't they? The A to Z album sounds a great idea. Going to give us some peeps of it?

Cute invitations and a fab card, I love the mix of patterned paper you've used here, and the little heart brad really lights it up.

Cool invites!

My sisters and I had a suitcase full of Lego which included a castle with knights, a portcullis and drawbridge. We also had a working train too.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
