stitching

Here, said I'd been doing some stitching. Put this together yesterday afternoon, lots of back stitching & some french knots - just to add a bit of texture, loved combining the handstitching with ribbons. This is from a layout for the Scrapbook Outlet using ribbon & some Ki memories colour theory - black!

Tarisota Playtime

Think I'm doing a return to cleaner & simpler lately - something to do with actually liking my photos so they don't need so much on the page? Have been doing a lot of handstitching lately - funny to see an article about it in the latestScrapbook Creations! Speaking of sewing - mum has had my bernina machine fixed & I now can't wait to use it again - thanks mum! A is home early from school today as there are parent teacher interviews going on. Means no Arrowtown Paper Arts tonight so will have to scrap by myself. Plans are in motion for a mini ,DIY, BYO scrap camp in Bannockburn (10 mins from Cromwell) late October which I'm going to use as a time to get lots of Christmas stuff done. Would love to know what you plan to make for Christmas gifts & any links to instructions would be fantastic. Also need to make a Christmas decoration for each of the children so tips & ideas for this would be great too - last year made them each a cube to hang on the tree. St...

next step

after all photos are sorted & journaling or notes for journaling are jotted down I lay out the photos on the table or floor, then I add CS, pp, ribbon, embellies, lettering etc to my piles (here's lots of the tarisota stuff). I put these 'page kits' into 12 x 12 zip lock bags ready for scrapping or I scrap them straight away - off to scrap @ least one of these now!!

some scrappy stuff

Here's my photo sorting - all in LO piles. I then look @ the 'groups' of pics & do my journaling on wee cards, then it's all ready for me to look @ the photos & think about the journaling & the message I want to convey when I choose the bits to go with them. Now I got home from work on Tuesday & there was not one but two boxes @ my door. one was my dt stuff for The Scrapbook Outlet for August & the other was a box full of Tarisota goodies. I usually only get the ribbons & this was a fantastic surprize from Tamar. It was soo stunning that I have now signed up for 'I want it all'! Now Jase would try to tell you that he doesn't like scrapbooking - but what's this - some CS, Brads, my cutting mat & paper piercer - & Jase!!! Ok so he wasn't scrapping but making menu holders for Waitiri - oh the places that you can find scrapbooking useful!

What do you make of this?

Quiet down the hall way, but a little voice can be heard, behind the closed toilet door this is what I find!

in the snow

It snowed. We played. Ethan got lots of snowballs thrown @ him. He didn't like it much. I sorted my scrap stuff & what I'm doing for next month @ the Scrapbook Outlet. Love days off work. Looked @ Moniques fantastic LO on No. 8 Wired & checked out the new challenge (only got my photos for the last on on Thursday). Congrats to my brother, his wife & son on the birth of ? on Thursday (not sure of his name). Hopefully get to meet him in the next week or so. Better do my Saturday chores so I can play later this afternoon.

Cafe Kid

Did this through an online Scrap Needs class last night with Jen Hall. Really enjoyed the fabric & the 7 G's. Wet horrible weather here - wish it would snow - looks prettier than rain!

Ruth Wins

Hey Ruth - I'll get the tape into the post for you sometime this week! Hope you enjoy it! Big week - back to work - you know the paid kind??!! Bit of scrapping happening too - Paper Arts (cards & scrapping) @ the local school tomorrow night & a scrapneeds class on Tuesday night. Want to have a go @ the NZ dares challenge - have to order a pic from digital max that will fit perfectly - Virgin on the Ridiculous! Cool new challenge set by one of the forum members @ SO - can get a $10 voucher - check out the forum!

Dad's truck

Here's another - did this last night while I had access to Lynley's sewing machine. The two pages of writing dad did will be typed up & put behind the photo. I'm going to do another of this photo & journaling I think so I can give one to dad & keep one for me - I love the photo! Any suggestions on different ways to do it would be appreciated (can't do the same thing twice!). The title of the LO in this case was the writing that was on the side of the truck when he acquired it (the truck) for a bottle of whiskey as a 16/17 year old much to his dad's disapproval! - the people in it (must put that somewhere on the layout come to think of it) - my mum sits on the footboard, dad standing @ the back by the door & dads sisters from left to right - Robyn, Heather & Gaynor.

School Holidays

Love term break - although I don't get paid - I don't have to go to work! Don't get me wrong I love work too but it gets in the way of scrapping! Thanks to some challenges I'm involved in I've got quite a bit done! Will post a couple more in a minute (picassa wouldn't put them all in for me! Anyone know how I can increase the size of my LO's in here? If I drag them they get all pixelated!

Patagonia

mexican chilli hot chocolates! Absolutely mouthwatering, stunning drink! We are on our second buy 9 get one free loyalty card & after having mum come & stay she's hooked too! Alex - seen here ladeling some warm creamy liquid into my 'large' cup to take away says their secret lies in it being 50% chocolate solids! We walked into the Arrowtown Village today - just for a hot chocolate before mum heads back to Dunedin. It was worth it. Have you seen the new stuff coming out in shops @ the moment? Loving the new Urban Lily, Cherry Arte & 3 bugs stuff -just too yummy - pity I have a budget to stick to!

I'm back!

Had a great week in Dunedin. Spent our first night there staying @ the Esplanade hotel in St Clair - just Jase & I - so nice to get away. The next day we went shopping & Jase bought me a new camera - has 12 x optical zoom - fantastic for getting great pics of my speedy & often far away threesome! Took these pics on it on Thursday when I took the kids to St Clair beach for a play(& so I could get pictures) after their swimming lesson. Love how Alicia's purple coat looks in this light! OK - I have some HS summer days tape from scrapbook essentials in Invercargill that I'm going to RAK . Place your comments on this blog & I'm gonna write down your names & let one of my children choose one & then I'll send you the tapes (after you have given me your details etc) - NZ or OZ only! I'll draw this Next Sunday night (16th July) @ 9pm & post the info as soon after as I can. The SE forum also has a great challenge 'favourite thi...
