scraps

Thanks to No. 8 Wired I finally scrapped the menu from my 30th Birthday dinner. It was something that was, then wasn't, then did finally go ahead... thanks to Jase & Andrew the chef at Waitiri Creek - it was delicious! It was over a year ago so nice to see it on a layout.

Cyber Crop at Scrap of Faith last night. Sal's challenge was to get someone in your house to set you a Biblical theme & it had to include at least one Bible verse & something that isn't a 'traditional' scrapping product e.g. plastic, fabric, felt etc. I went for strips of felt that I made the asterisk with. I used a large white brad in the centre and dotted it with pink paint.

Wtih all this snow, my package for Scrapbook Outlet work hasn't arrived... couriers aren't coming to my place, needless to say I'm not leaving here either - my car got me home.. but untill I get chains I won't be taking it out in the snow. I'm really looking forward to this pizza box, & some photos from digital max... so bright & energetic - just what I need when looking out at all the white snow still covering our deck & the lawn where the children haven't been sliding down! Off to put a loaf of bread on!

Awesome layouts, Lara. Love the idea of scrapping the menu - and boy it sounds delish!! You are sooooo lucky having a husband who is a chef!! I'm green with envy!

I must find more time to spend at SOF because those challenges sound really fun!

Oh yum! The dinner sounded great!
Love the praise layout too. Tim often sits at the piano and tells me to "sing Jesus". ;-)

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
