A Royal scrap camp

A Royal scrap camp
Fancy spending Queens Birthday Weekend (2nd – 5th June) in beautiful Queenstown – scrapping or taking photos to scrap?
A few of us ‘Wakatipu Scrappers’ decided that we wanted a camp too so we are having one.  We will be staying at Lakeland Park for the weekend, getting pizza etc delivered for our evening meals & having the other meals catered – all for a total cost of $160 – three nights, food & scrapbooking!  There will be some workshops – with class packs, a big screen for some chick flicks & scrapbooking dvd’s – all included in the price as well as a goodie bag for all ‘full enrolments’ + at the end of each month all enrolments with deposit paid will go into the draw to win some supplies.
If you want more info email me wakatipuscrappers@yahoo.co.nz & I can answer your questions or if you give me your address, can send you an enrolment form.  I also have the enrolment form as a pdf document if you would prefer that I email it to you.  This is a really ‘open’ camp & will hopefully be the start of an annual event where the focus is scrapbooking and uninterrupted opportunities to do this.

Oh my Gosh, that sounds so great Lara, that would be so much fun! The worst part would be narrowing down what scrap supplies to take!!...lol Its quite a long way from home for me, would be a neat opportunity though, will definitely give it some thought!

My 10cents worth...Laras mum here.
This will be one of the cheapest opportunities to stay in Qtown. We stayed at the camp (fantastic accomodation and views) when my mum had her 70th bday recently. Thoroughly recommended. Cheap airtickets if you book early online. Come on u NIslanders come have a look!!!and scrap.....granny

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
