my week so far...

This week is turning out great!  Having time on Monday (Otago Anniversary Day) to scrap with Lynley was just the best beginning!  Lynley was putting together some beginner class stuff that she intends to do soon – it looked great!  I got home to an email from The Scrapbook Outlet NZ asking if I would be a casual/oncall designer for their Design Team – of course I accepted – can’t wait to learn from Rach, Donna & Shani!  Then today I get an email from Jo (subeditor @ Up2Scrap) accepting one of my submissions – I did send a few mind you so as you can imagine I’m buzzing!  I have packaged the LO ready to send tomorrow after Playcentre.

Need to get back to reality though – Mum & Dad’s 50th Birthday this weekend, have to work out what I’m going to say, sort some table decorations & not to mention some way of sharing pictures of them when I only have Friday night & Saturday to do it!  Have to do some Playcentre Admin work this evening while Jase is @ Bible Study & then perhaps work on some speeches & table decoration research.  But first, dinner!

Congrats Lara. Seems like you have a reasonably relaxed lifestyle down there, I know you probably get busy etc like all of us, but seems to me just going by your pics etc that you have a really nice non-stress life, well compared to living in Auckland maybe, people don't seem to stop up here, you can't help buy get caught up in it all. I've worked for so long now and raising a family at the same time that I can't even imagine what it would be like to wake up and think, mmm I think I'll do some scrapping today!...lol usually I try to fit it in late at night if I'm lucky, there never seem to be enough hours in a day!!

Hope that came out right!...lol, I didn't mean to say you're not busy in any way, just mean't that it seems you have a nice life and get to spend some great quality time with your kids. Sometimes we get caught up in the big game of making money and don't stop to appreciate the simple things in life....(meaning us!!)

You don't have any time cause you are here posting all evening LOL! They say if you want something done ask a busy person. I tend to have lots on but seem to be able to prioritise & my family is one of those priorities. We took a drop in income just over a year ago with dh's work & he now works family friendly hours (10-5) five days a week. My paid employment means I get to work with my youngest two at Playcentre while my oldest is at school. I did full time study for a year (Post grad stuff) and that was 50 hours a week with children aged 4, 3 & 2 so life was really full on - living seems really cruisy at the moment & living here you can't help but enjoy the scenery. Our Scrap Camp should be a great weekend - might have to do a post on here about it - there are a couple happining up your way - one through KS (check Nic H or Lianne's blog - I think) and Scrapcamp wtih Jenny - I'll find her info & put it in a post too - stay tuned...

Yeah your right Lara, I seem to get less scrapping time since I started blogging.....lol, I'm sure the novelty will wear off, soon you'll probably see posts once a week! I'm lucky enough also to work and see my kids at the same time. Sounds like a lovely place where you live I've heard its a picture of beauty down there.

New Grad

This month I used the 'Sunshine Vibes' bundle to create this layout for the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team. Using die cuts to create stencils is a favourite way to create backgrounds for my scrapbook layouts. This bundle allowed me to do this and then to back some of the die cuts with in colour DSP.  Puffy hearts and fussy cut flowers add dimension. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator already and want the supplies I have used, please visit: https://laramoss.stampinup.net and head to the shop to look for: Sunshine Vibes Bundle Mini Alphabet Dies Florals in Bloom DSP

Prickly Pear Blog Hop

Welcome to our Prickly Pear Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our Prickly Pear Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Brittany's blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the CTMH Blog Challenge and Support Group Blog Hop Guidelines beginning with our hostess Carol . Next check out Diana’s blog. I have loved working with Prickly Pear - these are my kind of colours! I opened this pack up at a Scrapbooking Retreat and used it for most of my layouts over the weekend. There were a few! I also used some of my left overs from this kit to make a couple of cards that you can see in my YouTube process video (skip to 5.23 if you don't want the Design Space instructions :-) Thanks for visiting - I'd love for your to comment so I know you have been here :-) Next check out Diana’s blog.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team - applications are open!

I am half way through my year as an Artisan Design Team Member with Stampin' Up! and applications are currently open for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators to apply.  I have enjoyed this opportunity, the creative experiences, the teams I get to work with and the lovely supplies we are given (always exciting to see new design briefs and what arrives in my Artisan boxes). Over on Instagram, the current team is running a hop where we are all documenting in some way, what it has meant to be an Artisan. Look up @scrappykea to check out the links to the rest of the teams projects. You can see my project coming together and hear me talk a bit about the Artisan Journey in this video : If you live in New Zealand and want some of the creative supplies I have used in this project, please head to:  https://laramoss.stampinup.net/   Supplies used in this project: Two-Toned Cardstock: Secret Sea, Cloud Cover, Darling Duckling, Summer Splash, Timid Tiger Designer Series Paper: Turtle-y C...
