at the Farm

Just for one night... term break but swimming lessons for the children this week... so had to come back home. good thing I like my own bed! Before we left on Sunday evening I took these photos. Jase was taken with how nice these hens were, I love their colourings! Mum sold a couple on Trademe for $150.00 for the pair... normally they are about $25 each! She has 30 something chicks at various stages at the moment - some in the office, the glass house...& I think she had to move some out of the bedrooms so there were places for us to sleep too!

Love that these hens (& the rooster) get such a free life - true free range!

Don't these goats look contented?

OK, need to stop procrastinating & do some stuff!

Project Catwalk Weeks 9 & 10

so.. the top one, we had to scraplift soemthing from the last 9 weeks of challenges! I chose this one. I used the cafe scene and the reverse canvas idea I saw by Rach H in the last SBO ezine... now have some art for in our kitchen :-)

'hope' - this challenge was to use something in a way it isn't normally used... the base is my well painted, cut and used fiskars 12 x 12 cutting mat trimmed down!

Buttons & Sugar

Both sweet :-)
got some more buttons last weekend (via trademe)... still short on green ones... but the kids had a ball sorting them into the different jars based on colour.
When grocery shopping I spotted some newish pams packaging - both the white sugar and brown sugar have cool scrapbooker scallop borders and scallop circles & cupcakes to boot!!!. Cute. Almost makes me want to bake.

Big thanks to Aussie Scrap Source... I'd entered layouts in some challenges they set using different techniques, ideas and products... & on Friday I picked up a yummy package of Luxe papers and some Rose Moka (new to me, yummy, bright, thick papers) and some Luxe die cut journaling thingies as well as some Pink Paislee stamps. how cool was that. very generous!

It's the last week (of ten total) of SIS Project Runway for me... so after 3pm I might share some more of the things I have created for this. Have really enjoyed the challenges... really got me thinking out side my box and thinking about what it is I like on my pages and things and what I value as well as knowing I only like to create things that have a purpose... not just making them 'because'! I think it's helped me know my style a little more???!!! maybe :-)

Also... keep an eye on the gallery at SBO and on the blog too as new stuff is coming on there regularly (check out the Fiskars punch work by Donna & Vicky) and I see the gallery has some layouts using the yummy September Kit by the dt! Fun.

The Dare: to scrap the weird + strange,
am I allowed to say that my kids are weird and strange? LOL - just sometimes :-)

This dare was very cool... not so much a challenge but more of a dare, perfect :-) Love dares like this to push you out of your zone of scrapping some of those perfectly posed photos with beautiful colours. thanks for a fun dare Rach!

Kiwi Jack Me Up

have meant to do the last few jacks but just didn't :-(
finally did one :-)

Was asked what the background paper was... it's an October Afternoon Paper - (one of the detours collection ones) this manufacturer along with Cosmo Cricket are two of my favourites at the moment :-). the journaling card is also October Afternoon and the title is from some vinyl thickers by American Crafts.

Little Houses

Was delighted to play with one of the doodlebug houses. Andrea sent me one to 'do up' for the most recent ezine (the link is in the previous post). At church on Sunday the children looked at the story of Ruth and created these peg people to illustrate the story, when they got home they added twigs, grasses & Alicia added names - gotta love the spelling of 'Roth'. Loved how Alicia looked in her bible to find the other woman involved - 'Orpah' just so she could label them properly... Alicia had a special connection to this story as her middle name is Naomi (Ruth's mother in law). Any way, thought they looked cute next to the Lil House!
