Grateful Heart CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our Grateful Heart Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop. Where we hope to inspire you to use the 'Grateful Heart' collection. If you have arrived here from Doreen's Blog then you are in the right place.

If you have visited from a link elsewhere, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Grateful Heart wasn't my favourite collection in the current Seasonal Expressions (my favourite will be featured in December) but I enjoy a challenge and ended up enjoying the process of creating with it.  I made good use of the Seasons Mix-Ins to soften the autumnal colours (it's Spring here at the moment). For these layouts and a couple of cards, I also used the October Stamp Of the Month.

My first layout using Grateful Heart was put together with a process video and you can go to my previous post HERE.

I had packed the Grateful Heart Workshops Your Way Kit, along with my Cricut and the Seasons Mix Ins in my travel bags to spend a week at my parents beach house and my layouts using this collection were mostly created there - I took over a table in the lounge and created when I had the opportunity.  I am going to share two of my favourite pages with you and then add a few of my other projects using Grateful Heart at the end.

Shine

I used both Seasons Mix-Ins and Grateful Heart papers on this page, tucking them behind a Cricut cut and then layering the Grateful Heart complements with stamped and fussy cut images from 'Thanks and Giving' and 'Bunches of Love' to create a 'triangle' with the title.  The title was cut using one of the Cricut fonts (gypsy), linking them together and cut from our silver glitter paper. Some sparkle gems were added to finish off the 'shine' concept.

Full Heart

Using similar toned papers to that of the 'shine' layout I continued to use the October Stamp of the Month to embellish this layout.  Journaling was made simple using the paper with all of the pocket pages cuts on it.  I adore the wood veneer look of the complements.  I didn't have my sewing machine with me at the beach house and utilised the Stitched Borders stamp set to add the look of stitching. As always, a bit of sparkle by way of gem dots and pearls finishes off the page.

Here are a few other pieces I created using Grateful Heart:

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

my week so far...

This week is turning out great!  Having time on Monday (Otago Anniversary Day) to scrap with Lynley was just the best beginning!  Lynley was putting together some beginner class stuff that she intends to do soon – it looked great!  I got home to an email from The Scrapbook Outlet NZ asking if I would be a casual/oncall designer for their Design Team – of course I accepted – can’t wait to learn from Rach , Donna & Shani!  Then today I get an email from Jo (subeditor @ Up2Scrap ) accepting one of my submissions – I did send a few mind you so as you can imagine I’m buzzing!  I have packaged the LO ready to send tomorrow after Playcentre. Need to get back to reality though – Mum & Dad’s 50th Birthday this weekend, have to work out what I’m going to say, sort some table decorations & not to mention some way of sharing pictures of them when I only have Friday night & Saturday to do it!  Have to do some Playcentre Admin work this evening while Jase is @ Bible Study & the

Market Day

Sadly Lynley couldn't join me today as her dad is unwell :-( Was up rather early this morning (i.e. didn't get to bed till when some people are getting up on dairy farms) getting everything completed, packaged, priced etc for today and the organisation paid off as setting up was easy and had lots of sales :-) These photos are courtesy of Miss 8 who helped me set up this morning. Jase helped with the prep too and put these flowers together (as instructed). Off to make dinner, need sleep.
