Term Break

Term Break has meant time in Dunedin with family, creative moments and playing with my camera!  Yesterday was 'Scrap Saturday' where a group of local ladies get together to make stuff with paper generally although there were some knitting needles out & about yesterday.  I worked on the below layouts.  '12' & 'Hi' were part of a 'kit'challenge that we had each made up our own kits (shopping from our stash) & we had some things to do on our pages to go in the draw for a prize.

Having 8 ladies to your home to scrapbook requires liquid handsoap in the bathroom...we were out so I made some:-)  Rose essential oils make this one smell delighful and I smile each time I wash my hands (kind of like my rose multipurpose spray too).  Julia asked for the recipe...I made mine from Wendyl Nissen's book and you can find it HERE.  I added rose geranium & indian palmarosa in equal quantities.  I didn't use sunlight soap either - used some Dr Bronners bar soap.  This only makes enough for about 250ml liquid soap.

Last week I had the double pleasure of catching up with a uni friend and her delightful daughters and nephew to take some photos as I learn my way around my camera more.  She made some delicious ham soup and used the left over fat from the ham to make bird feeders with these three.

oh what a lovely break you have had thus far. What a wonderful scrap Saturday you had. Funnily enough I made liquid handsoap a month ago, I went for lemongrass and lavender.Great thing was it made enough for four bottles, two bathrooms, one toilet and one kitchen bench and still managed to 3/4 full a litre bottle. I love liquid handsoap.

What a great catch up you had with your uni friend.

Sounds like you have been having fun break! I love your pages..and very inspired to scraplift the bottom right one.

What was the "liquid" of your handsoap? Water? or something else?

Blessings

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

my week so far...

This week is turning out great!  Having time on Monday (Otago Anniversary Day) to scrap with Lynley was just the best beginning!  Lynley was putting together some beginner class stuff that she intends to do soon – it looked great!  I got home to an email from The Scrapbook Outlet NZ asking if I would be a casual/oncall designer for their Design Team – of course I accepted – can’t wait to learn from Rach , Donna & Shani!  Then today I get an email from Jo (subeditor @ Up2Scrap ) accepting one of my submissions – I did send a few mind you so as you can imagine I’m buzzing!  I have packaged the LO ready to send tomorrow after Playcentre. Need to get back to reality though – Mum & Dad’s 50th Birthday this weekend, have to work out what I’m going to say, sort some table decorations & not to mention some way of sharing pictures of them when I only have Friday night & Saturday to do it!  Have to do some Playcentre Admin work this ev...
