gala days and fairs

just some of the 'events' going on at SBO - keep an eye on the forum... & we are going to a real one tomorrow at Lake Hayes Pavilion :-) I must not purchase any junk LOL - with our move only 4 sleeps away :-).

We have to get a mailbox for our new house... current owners have just used a PO Box... hmm, what sort to get... any suggestions?

all stuffy with a cold at the moment, itchy eyes & all. The house is ready here for us to move out of.. as much as it can be with us & some boxes still in it LOL - just have windows, ovens, walls, doors & behind fridges etc to clean out.

To those I owed PIF's & RAKS... they were all posted on Wednesday :-)

Hope you feel better soon Lara. Wow only four sleeps to go. I have to say our letterbox gave up the ghost a few months ago so we went off to letterbox shop. I was quite keen on those plastic boxes, that are long and deep and can be locked. However we didn't have a fence to mount it on so we settled for a blue wodden letterbox and a pale in the ground. Looks fab and we got some nice gold letters put on the outside. Enjoy your Lake Hayes Trip.

I hope that it all goes well on Tuesday. If I were buying a mailbox now I would get one of those large heavy plastic type ones that lock and don't seem to leak either

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
