scrap lifting

No.8 is doing an inbetween dare - you have to lift some of the freestylers so check it out - heaps of inspiration for this one. I couldn't just do one so have done two & hope to do some more... Lifted Tia Bennett

Lifted Emily Falconbridge

Last night we had our monthly crop at Scrap Of Faith. As well as bingo & a quiz there were two scrapping challenges. An early bird one & one due on Monday.

This layout was for the longer challenge - it had to include the word 'faith' in it. Loving the new Scenic Route Metropolis papers as well as the gorgeous bright cherry arte!

This was the early bird challenge - we had to 'lift' someone in the SOF gallery & create a layout about 'forgiveness'. I lifted the gorgeous Ali Russell (I've been eyeing up some of her layouts for a while now.... great excuse to lift them eh?!)

Have you been to the Scrapbook Outlet gallery yet? I'm trying not to look till late tonight or early tomorrow as all the entries for the Outlet Survivor are coming in - you might still have time to put together an entry..... It's due midnight tonight & the rules etc. are in the forum somewhere - you need 2 layouts & one OTP - one of these things can have been seen before but 2 have to be new... I hear from many sources that there is some cool stuff in there! Any Aussies or NZr's are welcome to submit an entry!

Monday off as it's Otago Anniversary day so no Playcentre tomorrow but the girls have school - they Do Southland Anniversary which falls over the summer break. I get to go on a trip with Alicia in the morning which I wouldn't normally be able to do - great timing!

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
