new year

O.k so I've been a bad blogger - and no I haven't made "to blog more" a new years resolution! but I did go for a walk this morning.
I didn't get much layout scrapping done leading up to Christmas - gift making took over - I'm really pleased with how scrapcanvasses turned out. After not thinking I'm very Christmassy I entered a 'Spirit of Christmas' competition put out by our council & I won a tent -very exciting - I'm hoping for some time off for my dh to go camping with us some time this month. I'm looking forward to our scrap 'n' chat on the 14th and to putting plans together for a scrap camp perhaps in May some time.
I have so many photos to scrap (as the digitalmax .32 cent prints have ended) and a few competition entries to work on that I probably shouldn't be blogging but rather scrapping. Problem is that after Christmas & New Year I have even more photos to consider getting printed!
Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year! How cool winning a tent - bet the kids are rapt! I went for a big walk yesterday and to the gym today so back to it a bit. Good luck with the scrap competitions.

Hi Lara
Just a quick note to say you should check www.digitalmax.co.nz because they haven't yet changed their 32cent offer (to whatever they decide to charge in 2006). I've ordered a few photos this week -holidays need photos!- and they've all been uploaded at the 2005 32cent price.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

digital scrapbooking

I have been asked by a couple of friends via facebook about digital scrapbooking...what it is, how to and some sites etc. I thought I'd put a post here about it and send them here (just click on the purple coloured words and you'll head to the site I'm talking about). Essentially digital scrapbooking is using digital 'elements' to create scrapbook pages all on your computer, they can be saved as jpegs and printed on your home printer or through a photo developer, or you can just save them to a disc & can share them easily via email, flickr or even facebook! OK, design software, I use gimp because it's free! You can download trials of photoshop , photoshop elements and Creative Suite if you think you might like to purchase some slightly more user friendly software...There are other software options, but photoshop seems to be a main one. Edited to add: Quick pages.... basically the page is made for you and you just put your photo into it....check out this...
