granchildren canvas

This was for my mum & dad for Christmas. Mum wanted somewhere to put recent photos of her grandchildren (currently 6 of them but who knows....-no I'm definitely not having more!). I painted the canvas the same colour as her walls - napa - and attached the ribbon with brads. The clips serve the purpose for photos to be added and changed at will - It had to be 'modern' enough to go on mums walls - best thing is she must have liked it cause it was up on her wall that day. Posted by Picasa

What a neat idea, Lara - I love this. Think I will make Darryn's Dad one sometime soon - then when we post photos to him he'll have somewhere to clip them! Love it!

Lara, that is so cool. I love that the recipient can easily change the photos. I think I will scraplift that idea and use wooden pegs ('cause I bought a pack of about 200(!!) to make blackboards - see pics on Mel's and Delys' blogs - sorry I don't know how to do links in comments! - for details - Christmas presents and 200 wooden pegs will go a l-o-n-g way!)

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

New Grad

This month I used the 'Sunshine Vibes' bundle to create this layout for the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team. Using die cuts to create stencils is a favourite way to create backgrounds for my scrapbook layouts. This bundle allowed me to do this and then to back some of the die cuts with in colour DSP.  Puffy hearts and fussy cut flowers add dimension. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator already and want the supplies I have used, please visit: https://laramoss.stampinup.net and head to the shop to look for: Sunshine Vibes Bundle Mini Alphabet Dies Florals in Bloom DSP

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!
