The End of the School Holidays

We spend the last week at Granny & Pa's place at Taieri Beach. Nice to be away. Nice to be away from the internet. Nice to be somewhere else. Nice.

Mum took us on the 'Seasider' train. It goes from Dunedin to Palmerston and back again. With Jases broken leg we got into one of the best carriages- it had a lift thing to get him on & off the train. the kids loved the tunnels (so did I) and on the way back I stayed out of the carriage - we were in the end one on the return journey so I had fun with the camera.

And coming home...these leaves near Cromwell were beautiful, the Poplars were all changing colour and there were some on the ground just waiting to be played in. My three happily obliged.

If you have read this far...well done :-)

I have RAK....but to get it... I want your ideas of what to call my stuff in the previous post....want a name that doesn't have 'scrap' in it and that isn't too girly but kind of says what stuff I sell - notebooks, cards, little photo things and some pencil cases (sewn), canvasses from time to time, everyday stationary - just pretty etc...fire away with your suggestions and in a week or so if I love one I'll grab it & if not I'll keep thinking but pick one suggestion randomly for the RAK :-)

ok, Lara, do the washing!!!!

It is a fantastic trip on the train and you see everything from such a different perspective too.
Now for a name, for all your bits "n" bobs. What about like you said in your post "just pretty" :)

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

my week so far...

This week is turning out great!  Having time on Monday (Otago Anniversary Day) to scrap with Lynley was just the best beginning!  Lynley was putting together some beginner class stuff that she intends to do soon – it looked great!  I got home to an email from The Scrapbook Outlet NZ asking if I would be a casual/oncall designer for their Design Team – of course I accepted – can’t wait to learn from Rach , Donna & Shani!  Then today I get an email from Jo (subeditor @ Up2Scrap ) accepting one of my submissions – I did send a few mind you so as you can imagine I’m buzzing!  I have packaged the LO ready to send tomorrow after Playcentre. Need to get back to reality though – Mum & Dad’s 50th Birthday this weekend, have to work out what I’m going to say, sort some table decorations & not to mention some way of sharing pictures of them when I only have Friday night & Saturday to do it!  Have to do some Playcentre Admin work this ev...

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!
