NSD in NZ

Organised a 12 hour crop in Queenstown for NSD. Was great - a whole day for scrapping. My mum joined me for the morning. We had a constant supply of filter coffee & snacks (so many snacks I didn't need to go buy lunch or dinner!). I met some new people & others popped in just to see what we were doing - these LO's are some that I did. I also spent two hours showing some young women & some experienced scrappers how to make my handbags (shown in a previous post). I had done up some page kits which helped me to actually get something done. Mum completed her first Layout since a CM class a couple of years ago.
I had a go at this doodling thing (in the 'stuffed' Lo & used a little in the 'six feet'). Quite enjoyed it! I'm really pleased with how 'oh boy' turned out - much better than the first time I scrapped this photo (in a Lo called 'Wakatipu Boots') & the journaling is way better - more meaningful!
I'm doing Nic H's online class in a week and a half & am looking forward to it as it will be my first non CM class that i've 'attended' Hope I don't have any probs downloading software or getting to the site with time differences etc. Mum is also doing the class but on the Monday rather than Wednesday night.

Our Scrap Camp is moving along nicely with a great bunch of people coming - after Saturday I can't wait! A whole weekend (long because it's Queens Birthday Weekend) to scrap with some challenges and workshops thrown in. Have been collecting bits for the goodie bags & challenge prizes as has Nik so it's shaping up really well! I have a bag full of half page kits organised (just need to do my sketches & some need journaling) so I can get heaps done. Have a few more photos to get printed - as Digital max has half price enlargements leading up to Mothers Day!

I'm having trouble resisting all the stunning, delicious and beautiful papers and embellishments becoming avaliable at stores at the moment. I think scrapbooking needs to come with health (up all night scrapping) and finance (don't ask) warnings!

My first lot of DT work for the Scrapbook Outlet went up last Friday Night - such a releif to be able to post it - now onto next months work! Posted by Picasa

Your layouts at NSD are fab. I really love Oh Boy & the feet one. Isn't it great when our mothers scrap. Mine is just beginning too; pity she lives in NP. Totally agree with all the temptations to buy!! It's not fair.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
