Nic's Class

Really enjoyed my workshop with Nic H last night! Like what I achieved for my first Scrapbook Workshop (only other was with a 'home class' through a particular company). Thanks for the opportunity for an LSS challenged scrapper!

I didn't get the product pack for the class but put together my own - used Urban Coture (BG), wholy cow bg rub ons - girl - white, Maya Road Chip flowers & cactus pink chip letters, mm pink paint & some delish paint - pale grey & Bazzill CS. My pic is bigger than the one recommended -but when do I do what I'm told? I had an altercation with the rub on - not sure it loves textured CS much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA!! (my wee sis)

Thanks again! Posted by Picasa

What fun ... saw Nic had linked some layouts on Sally D's blog as well as the full version (no more sneak peeks!) on her blog.
Just like being in a chatroom? Is that how it works?

That looks great Lara! love how it worked out with your chosen paper. I did the class too but used the kit- just awesome ! but keen to do another one with my choice of papers. Certainly a great way to do a class & not have to travel far!!

Wow, love how you've done Nics class. I wouldn't be game enough to choose my own stuff. I'd get all confused by not knowing ahead of time how many of this or that I needed. LOL.

Cool lo Lara, it has been great to see how the lo's differ. Love your last lo's too, especially your use of the frogs.

That's a lovely layout & more original when you put your own spin on it!! I had an altercation with the same rubons! {Assuming you mean the circular BG ones}.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
