going to the chapel...

Well, it's really a winery now but once it was - the building was relocated from somewhere down south!

Huge congrats to Andrew & Bex who got married yesterday :-)
The children came to the service and I pre-cut &/or painted up the below items to which they added embellishments - These came about through suggestions from some online friends and Rach at the weekly chat at SBO on Friday night!

The bride arrived in a helicopter - reminded me of my wedding :-) She looked aboslutely gorgeous! The food was stunning too - bbq crayfish, spit roasted pork, lamb & chicken and some really tasty salads. Dessert was creme brule, cheesecake or tiramisu - YUM - guess that's what happens when the groom and one of the groomsmen are chefs who initially trained under my DH - the groom works casually at Waitiri now though once was the full time chef & one of the groomsmen has done really well in chef competitions and is heading off overseas to further his career. Andrew has changed tack a little though still doing a couple of days a week in the kitchen but has just come 3rd in the NZ muscle man comps (don't ask me the proper names etc cause I don't have a clue - but a great achievement).

We sat in a Marquee for the meal - nice to escape the cooler weather and fine rain that fell at times!

Anyway, need to get on with some real work instead of playing on the computer on this nice - finally sunny - day!

Hey scrap campers - hope it was fantastic! So green jelly of you chance to scrap this weekend and look forward to seeing on some blogs what you all got up to!

Hey Lara,

Loved the wedding photos, and little projects you completed.... just gorgeous.

I didn't have your email address so this could be like a War and Peace Saga on your blog !!!!!

Thank you so much for your support regarding my entry on my blog.

Im pleased to say that that horrid site has been shut down and is no longer.

It's weird - I've been in the industry for 3 years now, and I don't think I have ever been as upset as I was when I read all of the "anonymous" comments written there. People were being back stabbed, and slandered for absolutely no reason whatsoever !!! It was so upsetting.

But now we can all move on and retrospectively look at this as a huge learning curve. Your comments on my blog, made me feel strong again and want to be part of this industry.

Let all us "goodies" stick together and support and love each other. Im not going to let the "baddies" win !!!!! and if they come back lets ignore them and move on.

Look after yourself Lara and keep in touch.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
