two children

Life with two children is quite different to life with three, everything takes a little less time and when we go out (like tonight - we saw Ice Age II) there's a child each for J & I to take care of! But we miss her - we miss Katya's crazy comments, bizzare body wiggles and her company. Worst thing is that she doesn't miss us & is having a fantastic time @ Granny & Pa's and at the farm with her cousin Isla. Hopefully Pa will bring her back sometime next week with some firewood too - it's starting to get chilly around here. The Autumn leaves are gorgeous - both on the trees and the ones that have fallen. We have the Arrowtown Autumn Festival happening soon which always involves lots of family fun.

On a scrappy note - my bits for this months DT project arrived yesterday - loving the new basic grey! Have my pics sitting with some appropriate pps on my bench while I finish some research and establish what I want to say with each of the LO's. I have a couple of project ideas in mind so keep an eye out on the Scrapbook Outlet gallery towards the end of the month or beginning of May to see what the design team are working on! Next month I'll be working on some Layouts with instructions &/or a sketch so keep watching that space. There are some way cool products coming in over the next couple of months so keep an eye on that 'what's new' part of the website too!

We have our scrap 'n' chat tomorrow night so looking forward to some catching up & as I've learned only a little scrapping. I checked out some blogs earlier & Mel had some cool cards and a challenge to do some so maybe I'll plan to do cards tomorrow night (might actually get some things completed). At school today when picking up Ali, another Ali gave me an ATC - so cool Ali - thank you - guess that means i should make some instead of just enjoying everyone elses! Posted by Picasa

We were down to one child this afternoon - very cruisy but it's funny how you miss them, isn't it!
AND they didn't even squabble when they got back together!
Very exciting starting on the DT work isn't it!!

Sounds like you are going to be a busy lady Lara, how exciting working on a Design Team, I love a challenge. I know what you mean about the kids, only one has to be missing here and the house seems so quiet, doesn't matter which one, just one! Good luck on your layout looking forward to seeing it :)

Isn't it a wonderful break when you 'lose' one of them for a bit? But don't we miss them, too!

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
