daring seethrough cards

Daring cardmakers challenge - using something remotely see through. Since there are a couple of family birthdays coming up this month I got to make use of some of the gorgeous Junkitz transparent ribbon - cupcakes, celebration words & some flowers.

I'm not sure what happened to the full pic of the '5' card - lost between picasa & blogger :-( but you get the picture right?

I just HAD to use the new embossing folders for my cuttlebug (thanks Andrea). both the '5' & the word 'seven' were cut with the cricut but the '5' was cut & then went through the cuttlebug - love how these two tools can work together :-)

I've been playing with both the May SBO kit & with some of the Queens Birthday Weekend Challenges over the last couple of days. Will share soon :-). Can't wait to play with the June kit as it is freezing here at the moment & just seeing all those colours warms me a little.

I've also been mulling over make & takes/classes for the Bannockburn July retreat. I think Tanya Leigh is going to do one of the make & takes using products from Meg - can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve for us! Shout out to Nik who's in the other island at the moment - miss you but hope all is going well - also want you back soon! Must say I wish I was free to go to the Scrap Camp with Lianne & Yolande - & many other scrappers I come across at the end of this month though!

Finally getting some of my unmounted stamps sorted properly with some help from a folder & storage cards from Debbie. also needed some butterfly stamps she had there....

OK, need to leave here as it's too cold & my hands are feeling very chilli!

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
