Project 12 April

Super simple, continuing with my current pleasure in white cardstock and OA 8x8 paper. Love the die cut journaling tags too. Make layouts so easy to put together. I created this while sitting beside Mrs Frizz at the Dunedin Scrap Retreat and her delicicious layering and prima delights. In comparison my pages were rather flat, but I decided I like it that way for everyday layouts. For something special - e.g. one of my sisters family and one of my family on mums birthday recently, I'm happy to add some more in the way of depth in my creativity but other than that I'll stick with simple.

Gorgeous Layout Lara and WOW I cannot beleive how many layouts you managed to get done at your retreat. I think you need to come give me some lessons on getting layouts done quickly. I think I am doing well if I get 6-7 done in a weekend. They are just stunning too.

I like your layout. Despite loving the look of layered work and occassionally doing it I, too, have always been a simple scrapper.

I struggle to scrap flat ... I guess we are all different ... and let me tell you all ladies ... this lady can scrap and she truly makes it look so easy.

It was a pleasure to actually sit back and watch. Lara would pick up a pad of papers and in no time at all ... it was all put together and every one of them looks ... just so right.

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

Cheese Rolls

Spread sliced bread with Cheese Spread (see below). Roll up. Toast in oven & serve hot. These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
