Yeah for the weekend!

After lots of rain yesterday and last night today is nice and sunny. The girls & I just had a walk down by the river into Arrowtown where I had to purchase some more digitalmax pre-pays as am getting some photos to scrap! (it took 4 1/2 hours for 141 photos to be uploaded). I was pleasantly surprised as they still had some of the old cards (pay $20, get $25 worth). Since getting more I have ordered a larger print of the photo on the right (just coz, as my son would say). I'll wait till the prints come through before getting larger versions of any of the others.
I went out for dinner last night with other Kindergarten Board members & the teachers from our five Kgtns. Nice food. I drove the van so after dropping everyone home (all around the Wakatipu) I got to bed at around 1:30am - at least it was my sleep in this morning!

Must go enjoy the remaining sunshine!

Oh do you have sleep in turns, too?! While our kids were smaller we just HAD to do that. Just to know that one day a week you could sleep in was bliss. Now my youngest is 5 we can both have a bit of a sleep in. Elliot just tells us he's up and will (dare I say) watch TV for an hour or more and get his own (kind of) breakfast (a dairy food or something he can reach - though one day it was 3 packets of chippies - not good!).

I find that now I can sleep in a bit more that I tend not to - well maybe til 8am on at Saturday. Maybe it was all psycological - now I can sleep in I don't need to!

Love your blog, Lara!

Cheers

Purging

The stuff can take over.  My stuff was covering my work surface and much of the bedroom floor.  I had to do a big sort out. I was brutal.   Stuff...ready to go. I packaged it in some storage totes I had that needed a new home (I’m waiting for my new CTMH travel system to arrive) and listed it on s local trading site.  It’s gone now. It doesn’t look pretty but I have a desk space and things are organised. The rest of my supplies now fit in this cupboard. Since the ‘purge’ I have had the space to create.  It feels good and it’s great to be able to get to my desk. A few pages made since the tidy up...and a box of 20 cards!

These may be frozen and heated when required! cheese spread: 1pkt onion soup; 500g tasty cheese - grated; a 400g tin of evaporated milk; Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat slowly until cheese melts and mixture thickens. Stir well. When cool store in jars in the fridge for sandwhiches etc or put in your cheese rolls! Yep, the Up2Scrap Elite Design team has been announced - soo privileged & excited to be a part of it. Congrats to Donna , Rach , Lianne , Trina & Sue & thanks Steph & Jo for the opportunity:-) We have been in Invercargill overnight - nice to get away even if it is only for a night! We went to Queens Park & the Museum/Art Gallery today & the Art Gallery Cafe served these cheese rolls -yum! Such a lower South Island thing - but soo good!

a catch up

Spent last night in Invers. We had a family dinner for dh's Nanny. We did a brief shop @ Farmers (none in the Wakatip) & went to Splash Palace this morning & BK for lunch (there's no BK here either!). Here are my 21 Challenge pages for the last three days. The hardest one was the Eleanor Roosevelt quote as I'm not sure what scares me - other than a lingering death while my children are still young, or one of them or dh being harmed in some way but even then I have a faith that gives me hope & assurance of a future. So I decided to apply this to my art or my creating - to try something new each day - even if it scares me. Day 4's quote was a goodie - I find that I make decisions all the time & this confirms that I am 'qualified' to make them. I used the pic of Katya for Day 6 as her blowing dandilion heads across the play area indicates this freedom & exploration of the world around. Watching her reminds me of the beauty & wonder al...
